SPRING SEASON

There are many seasons,But I love spring season..

It's the spring which makes me smile,,And make easy every mile..

I love its different hues,And also love the tiny dews..

It makes the Earth N' Sky shiny,

Every bird chirps with joy,Whether big or tiny...

Every Flower to the Earth, adds the beauty,,Like this is their only duty..

Every Flower blooms, every bird enjoys,,Even humans can't     deny..

Every tree seems to be new and fresh,,That's the reason I love other seasons less..

This season and the sun works closely together,And provides us the happy and fresh weather..

Michael Schumacher in coma after skiing Accident , Battles for life !!! :(

 Michael Schumacher

Former Formula 1 Champion Michael Schumacher condition remains critical and it is not clear how it would progress ,doctors treating him after a skiing injury said on Monday.

Grenoble:Schumacher, 44, remained in an artificial coma after hitting his head against a ROCK at a French skiing Resort. He was operated on for the second time late on Sunday night and holes were drilled in the skulls to reduce internal pressure.

Seven-times Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher was fighting for his life on Monday after suffering severe head injuries in a skiing accident in the French Alps resort of Meribel, doctors said.

"We can say that his condition is life-threatening,"Jean-Francois Payen, head anaesthetician at the CHU hospital in the eastern French city of Grenoble, told a news conference.

"For the moment we can not say what Michael Schumacher's future is."he added."We are working round the clock-we are trying to win time."

The retired motor racing great,44,slammed his head on a rock while skiing off-piste on Sunday morning in the French Alpine resort where he has a vacation home.

"His helmet did of course protect him at least partly.Someone who had suffered a similar accident without a helmet would not have made it here (to the hospital),"Payen said.

Schumacher was initially conscious as he was transported to a local hospital in Moutiers and then to Grenoble. However, his condition deteriorated sharply afterwards.

Neurosurgeon Stephan Chabardes said an emergency brain scan carried out on Schumacher had revealed internal bleeding and injuries including contusions and lesions. He said they had operated to treat the internal bleeding.

Doctors said Schumacher had been placed in an artificial coma but, contrary to an earlier French media report, said they had not carried out a second operation during the night and were not planning any further interventions at this stage.

A spokesman for German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she was shocked to hear the news.

"We hope that he overcomes his injuries and can recover."the spokesman told a regular briefing in Berlin.

In Germany, Schumacher's accident topped news bulletins, with the best-selling tabloid newspaper Bild reporting on its website: "Schumi fighting for his life".

Schumacher was under the care of Professor Gerard Saillant. a brain and spinal injury expert who is also a president of the International Automobile Federation(FIA) Institute.Saillant told the news conference he was there as "a friend" and gave no further details on his condition.

Bild reporters said Ross Brawn, the Briton who worked with Schumacher at Ferrari and Mercedes as technical director and team principal respectively, had arrived in Grenoble.

Leading names in motor racing reacted with shock on Twitter."if anyone can pull through, it's him." said Britain's triple Indy 500 winner Dario Franchitti, who is still walking on crutches after a crash in October that ended his racing career.

The Marshall Mathers LP 2 : EMIN3M_HEADLIGHTS ft NATE RUESS {CLEAN}

Eminem – Headlights Lyrics

The Marshall Mathers LP 2
[Intro: Nate Ruess]
Mom, I know I let you down
And though you say the days are happy
Why is the power off and I'm f**** up
And Mom, I know he's not around
But don't you place the blame on me
As you pour yourself another drink, yeah

[Hook: Nate Ruess]
I guess we are who we are
Headlights shining in the dark night I drive on
Maybe we took this too far

[Verse 1: Emin3m]
I went in headfirst, never thinking about who what I said hurt, in what verse
My Mom probably got it the worst
The brunt of it, but as stubborn as we are, did I take it too far
Cleaning Out My Closet and all them other songs, but regardless I don't hate you, cause Ma
You're still beautiful to me, cause you're my Mom
Though far be it for you to be too calm, our house was Vietnam
Desert Storm and both of us put together could form an atomic bomb
Equivalent to Chemical Warfare, and forever we could drag this on and on
But, agree to disagree, that gift for me up under the Christmas tree
Don't mean s*** to me, you're kicking me out? It's 15 degrees
And it's Christmas Eve ("Little prick, just leave"), Ma let me grab my f***ing coat
Anything to have each others goats, why we always at each others throats
Especially when dad, he f**** us both, we're in the same f***ing boat
You'd think that'd make us close (nope) further away it drove
Us, but together, headlights shine, and a car full of belongings, still got a ways to go
Back to grandma's house, it's straight up the road
And I was the man of the house, the oldest, so my shoulders carried the weight of the load
Then Nate got taken away by the state at 8-years-old
And that's when I realized you were sick and it wasn't fixable or changeable
And to this day we remain estranged and I hate it though
But...

[Hook]
I guess we are who we are
Headlights shining in the dark night I drive on
Maybe we took this too far

[Verse 2: Emin3m]
Cause to this day we remain estranged and I hate it though
Cause you ain't even get to witness your grandbabies grow
But I'm sorry Mama for Cleaning Out My Closet, at the time I was angry, rightfully, maybe so
Never meant that far to take it though, cause now I know it's not your fault, and I'm not making jokes
That song I'll no longer play at shows and I cringe every time it's on the radio
And I think of Nathan being placed in a home
And all the medicine you fed us and how I just wanted you to taste your own
But now the medication's taking over and your mental state's deteriorating slow
And I'm way too old to cry, the s*** is painful though
But Ma, I forgive you, so does Nathan, yo
All you did, all you said, you did your best to raise us both
Foster care, that cross you bear, few may be as heavy as yours
But I love you Debbie Mathers, oh, what a tangled web we have cause
One thing I never asked was where the f*** my deadbeat dad was
F*** it I guess he had trouble keeping up with every address
But I'd have flipped every mattress, every rock and desert cactus
Own a collection of maps and followed my kids to the edge of the atlas
If someone ever moved them from me, that you could've bet your a***
If I had to come down the chimney dressed as Santa
Kidnap 'em, and although one has only met their grandma
Once you pulled up in our drive one night, as we were leaving to get some hamburgers
Me, her and Nate, we introduced you, hugged you, and as you left I had this overwhelming sadness
Come over me as we pulled off to go our separate paths, and
I saw your headlights as I looked back, and I'm mad I didn't get the chance to
Thank you for being my mom and my dad, so
Mom, please accept this as a tribute I wrote this on the jet, I guess I had to
Get this off my chest, I hope I get the chance to lay it before I'm dead, the stewardess said to fasten
My seatbelt, I guess we're crashin'
So if I'm not dreaming, I hope you get this message
That I'll always love you from afar
Cause you're my Ma

[Hook]
I guess we are who we are
Headlights shining in the dark night I drive on
Maybe we took this too far

[Bridge: Nate Ruess]
I want a new life, (start over) one without a cause (clean slate)
So I'm coming home tonight, well, no matter what the cost
And if the plane goes down, or if the crew can't wake me up
Well, just know that I'm alright
I was not afraid to die
Oh even if there's songs to sing, my children will carry me
Just know that I'm alright
I was not afraid to die
Because I put my faith in my little girls
So I never say goodbye cruel world
Just know that I'm alright
I am not afraid to die

[Hook]
I guess we are who we are
Headlights shining in the dark night I drive on
Maybe we took this too far

Jacques Kallis : The Big Guy for South Africa

Jacques Kallis : The Big Guy for South Africa

And Here is why !!!

Jacques Kallis carried around Kingsmead by his team-mates

Jacques Kallis : King Kallis

No batsman prizes his wicket more highly, and no wicket in all of cricket is more highly prized. Jacques Kallis is the broad-shouldered colossus of the South African team, a figure whose looming presence inspires calm in some and dread in others. Few players who belong to the modern age are a better fit for the notion of the classical cricketer. Kallis is a fine, forceful batsman who has at his disposal both a rock-solid technique and a mind impervious to distraction. Though his role as a bowler diminishes with each passing season, he will be remembered as a purveyor of sometimes surprising pace and swing, and awkward bounce. In the slips, his sure-handedness and rattlesnake reflexes make ridiculous catches look regulation.

Kallis announced himself as a batsman of international stature in his seventh Test, the drawn Boxing Day epic at Melbourne in 1997, when he scored a fighting 101 on a worn last-day pitch. Not even Glenn McGrath and Shane Warne could dislodge him before he had all but saved the match for South Africa.

Over the years Kallis has delivered many such innings, performances in which grit is a far more valuable commodity than glitz to a South African team that remains more confident in the field and with its fast bowlers in full cry than as a batting unit. Kallis has willingly shouldered the role of the fulcrum around which the wheel must try to turn. But, occasionally, he has unfurled a stroke of startling aggression that hints at what might have been.

Certainly, his lofted drive, which begins with a menacing backlift before uncoiling into the irresistible momentum of a mighty downward swoop of the bat and finishing in a twirl of Baroque, might be described as Mozart in motion. In the lightning flash of that fleeting instant it really does seem as if Kallis could, in the words of one observer, hit a six whenever he felt like it.

His critics, particularly those who have a limited understanding of the dynamics of the South African team, accuse him of not dominating attacks he has already ground into the dust, of unnecessarily slow scoring, and of failing to take the match situation into account as he plots his innings. All of which hints at selfishness, which is quite ironical, because his team-mates vouch for the fact that Kallis bats the way he does precisely because he puts his team first and his personal ambitions some way behind. It's the only way he knows how.

Jacques Kallis : The King All Rounder Retires from Test Cricket !!!

Jacques Kallis the Best All Rounder Without a doubt of modern era retired from the test Cricket in a fitting farewell as South Africa BEAT India by 10 Wickets in the last Test Match of the 2Match Series and hence winning 1-0 !!!

South Africa 500 (Kallis 115, de Villiers 74, Jadeja 6-138) and 59 for 0

beat

 India 334 (Vijay 97, Pujara 70, Steyn 6-100) and 223 (Rahane 96, Peterson 4-74)

 by ten wickets

South Africa overpowered India by ten wickets in Jacques Kallis' final Test to give one of the greatest of Test careers the perfect end. Kallis will retire satisfied at having been an integral part of a South Africa side who are the undisputed No. 1 in Tests, having lost just one of their previous 25 series stretching back to 2006.

It was a wonderful summer day to sign off. A 40% chance of rain was expected to be one of India's allies on a day that was the biggest challenge for their young batting line-up. Instead, they were greeted by clear blue skies and pleasant sunshine. And their chances worsened dramatically within 15 minutes of the start of play, as Dale Steyn removed their two best batsmen, Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara, in a fierce spell of fast bowling.

India managed to clear the deficit just before lunch, but South Africa had mopped up five wickets in the first session to put themselves on the verge of a series victory. Though it was the fifth day, the track was still reasonably good for batting, but only Ajinkya Rahane stuck it out with a hugely impressive 96 before becoming the last man out.

A target of 58 proved little challenge to South Africa's openers, who knocked it off in less than 12 overs to end a Durban 'jinx' that lasted since early 2008, with the home side failing to win four previous Tests.

SouthAfrica's dominance began with the first ball of the day itself when Steyn struck a big blow, getting a shortish delivery to rear up to have Kohli caught behind. Kohli couldn't believe the decision, as the ball had brushed his shoulder on the way through to the keeper but he was on his way.

Dale Steyn picked up two wickets in a fiery spell

If Kohli couldn't be faulted for his dismissal, very little blame could be attached to Pujara for his exit as well. Steyn produced the ball of the match - a quick delivery that angled in and then nipped away to beat Pujara's attempt at keeping it out and clip the top of offstump. India were left shellshocked by that early burst as Steyn gave another reminder of why he remains the most lethal fast bowler around.

Rohit Sharma had shouldered arms and lost his middle stump first ball in the first innings, but he fared better this time around. There was plenty of chat with a fired-up Steyn, who sledged him with lines like "I've got more runs than you this series," and "You have done nothing in your career." Rohit survived both Steyn's spell and the verbals, but there was no redemption on a disappointing tour for him as he was caught lbw by a ripping incutter from Vernon Philander for 25.

His Mumbai team-mate Rahane, though, has vastly enhanced his reputation on this series. After nearly two years with the Test squad without getting a proper look-in, he has finally got a couple of games on this challenging tour, and he has locked in his place with a bunch of gutsy knocks. There were an array of classic drives in his fighting innings, one of the highlights of which was a gentle straight drive for four off Steyn.

Rahane's defensive solidity was on display as he kept out the hostile South African quicks, again showcasing his temperament. He also showed that he had that vital quality for a No. 6, the ability to bat with the tail as he and the lower order frustrated South Africa for more than an hour after lunch. He was marching towards a maiden Test century, going for his shots - including a seemingly effortless six over point off Philander - before he was bowled for 96.

India's chances had withered long before that. Robin Peterson stuck twice in an over - MS Dhoni chipped a catch to midwicket, to bring back the questions over his ability to bat in away Tests, and Ravindra Jadeja holed out to long-off. India had slumped to 154 for 7. Zaheer Khan, unlike in recent innings, showed some application before falling to a carrom ball that rounded off a great day for Peterson.

South Africa may be the winners, but India have had plenty to gain from the series as well. Widely expected to be thrashed 2-0 on this tour, they showed they could hold their own against the toughest team around. It is a certainly a massive step up from their two previous high-profile overseas series, which ended in disastrous 4-0 losses, something to cheer their fans despite the Durban defeat.

THE ASHES : Graeme Swann Retires from International Cricket

Swann Quits With Immediate Effect : No more in Ashes Mix !!!

Graeme Swann retires mid-series

Swann, 34, will not play in the final two Tests of the Ashes tour and will finish his career with 255 wickets at 29.96 from his 60 Tests. However, on a disappointing tour of Australia in which England have gone down 3-0 after the first three Tests, Swann has been one of the senior players who has failed to have an impact and has managed only seven wickets at 80.

He said that although he knew retirement was not far away earlier this year, given the struggle for his body to get through five-day matches, the temptation of potentially winning a fourth consecutive Ashes series had encouraged him to take part in the tour of Australia. Swann said that with the series decided and his mind made up, there was no point in playing on at the MCG or in Sydney.

Graeme Swann on...

  • Who should replace him...

  • "I think Monty's going to come in and do a great job in this game coming up this week. Whoever ends up taking the role full time I think they'll do a great job as well. Personally I hope little Scottie Borthwick gets a chance before long. He's a legspinner with a bit of x-factor and he can bat as well. Despite supporting Man City and Sunderland, two of the worst teams in England, he's a good guy."

  • What he'll miss the most...

  • "This England team has been my family for the best part of a decade now. You spend so much time with guys who you love to pieces. It's going to be really hard not going to breakfast with a miserable Jimmy Anderson every morning, breaking him in slowly through the day and seeing a smile about tea-time. Things like that will be hard."

  • The future of the England team...

  • "We've got very exciting young players in England. Ben Stokes showed last week what a great player he is. I think he could be a player you could almost build a team around, not putting pressure on him - well, that is putting pressure on him I suppose - but if he can continue in the vein of form he started in, you could build teams around players like that."

  • Telling Alastair Cook of his decision...

  • "He is one of my best mates so it should have been a very easy conversation but it actually made it doubly hard, just to sit down over a coffee and blurt it out. It was like one of his team talks, it didn't make any sense. But I got it out in the end."

    Courtesy : http://www.espncricinfo.com

"When I came out on this trip I half expected it to be my last tour for England," Swann said in Melbourne on Sunday. "I was desperately hoping to win the Ashes out here again like we did in 2010-11 but with the Ashes gone now in those three Test matches, personally I think to stay on and selfishly play just to experience another Boxing Day Test match and another Sydney Test match would be wrong.

"It would be wrong for the team, wrong for me as well. It's time for someone else to strap themselves in and enjoy the ride like I have done. It's time for England to rebuild and refocus on winning back these big series. Me hanging around with the decision already made in my head wouldn't be right.

"My body doesn't like playing the long forms of cricket. My arm doesn't cope very well with bowling 30 or 40 overs in the first innings and then repeating it in the second innings a day later anymore. I could feel my performances tapering off in the back end of games and I wasn't happy with that. I'm not willing to just hang on and get by being a bit-part player. I want to be a guy who wins matches for England, and I don't feel I was doing that in the second innings anymore.

"It is disappointing. At the end of The Oval Test match last year, I think why didn't I just stop then? I knew more or less that the time was coming up. But then I'd never forgive myself. We had the chance of coming out here and potentially winning four Ashes series on the bounce. I'd never have forgiven myself had I not come out here and given it a crack."

Swann's decision means Monty Panesar is likely to take the role of lead spinner for the remaining two Tests, but the broader question of who will be England's long-term Test spinner remains unclear. Swann himself nominated the Durham legspinner Scott Borthwick as a potential replacement who could add to the all-round "x-factor" that Ben Stokes had already brought to the team on this tour.

Swann noted that the success of Stokes, who scored England's first century of the Ashes series in their defeat at the WACA, was indicative of the way the senior men had failed to stand up on this trip. It was a very different scenario in England earlier this year, when Swann was the leading wicket taker from either side with 26 victims, and at the time it appeared that he may still have some chance of surpassing Derek Underwood to become England's leading Test spinner of all time.

However, Swann will finish 42 wickets short of Underwood's tally of 297, leaving him sixth overall on England's all-time wicket tally behind Ian Botham, James Anderson, Bob Willis, Fred Trueman and Underwood. That was a significant achievement given that Swann did not make his Test debut until the age of 29, but his consistency meant that he missed only six of the 66 Tests that England had played since then.

Since his debut in December 2008, Swann was Test cricket's leading wicket taker from any country, his 255 victims well ahead of Anderson (232), Stuart Broad (207) and Dale Steyn (205), who were the next best in that period. He was Man of the Match on six occasions, most recently for his 10-wicket haul against New Zealand at Headingley in May. Swann told his England team-mates of his decision on Sunday morning in Melbourne.

"They've all been very supportive and congratulated me on my career and wished me luck for the future," he said. "I wished them all the luck in the world. I'm an England fan and I want to see England cricket No.1 in the world, winning games and winning Ashes series. I think the core of that team in the change room are the guys to do that."

England's coach, Andy Flower, said: "Graeme Swann has made an outstanding contribution to the England cricket team in all formats throughout an incredibly successful career and I would like to congratulate him on all that he has achieved.

"His commitment, competitive spirit and sense of humour have been recognised and admired by team-mates and supporters alike and he has played a big part in England's success over the last five years. The dressing room will be a very different place without Graeme's unique personality and I would like to wish him all the very best for the future."

Swann said his personal highlights included playing in three triumphant Ashes sides, as well as the World Twenty20 success in the West Indies in 2010. Apart from his Test appearances, Swann will depart with 104 wickets from 79 one-day internationals and 51 wickets from 39 Twenty20 internationals. He also paid tribute to his two county sides, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire.

Bigg Boss 7 : Armaan Kohli Evicted !!!

!!!  Armaan Kohli EVICTED from the SHOW!!!

"For me it is like winning even when I haven`t won technically. I`ve come away from `Bigg Boss` far more patient and far more humane than I was before I entered the House. And of course I`ve made a life-long friend in Tanishaa."

Armaan`s relationship with Tanishaa within the Bigg Boss house is the talk of the nation.

Says Armaan a little bashfully: "I don`t know how the public saw us. But we were very close to one another. She is a lovely girl. And I was very lucky to have her with me in the Bigg Boss house. She helped to keep me sane in a situation where I was constantly being taunted provoked and pushed against the wall."

Armaan says he doesn`t know how he came across in the public eye. "It wasn`t as if I was constantly losing my temper, screaming, throwing a fit all the time. There were so many occasions during these 97 days when I sang, danced, played games and had fun."

Tanishaa, says Armaan, anchored him in the house.

Bigg Boss
Speaking of her with affection, he says: "For me there was only the wall. I was constantly being pushed against it. There were 13-14 contestants who were constantly doing and saying things that went against my way of thinking and behaving. The stress levels were really high.

"You have to understand the Bigg Boss house is not a normal place to be in. In real life when you see conflict stress or confrontation, you walk away. In the Bigg Boss house I didn`t have the luxury or the option to walk away.

"I had to stay despite the pressures. I am not the kind of person who can stand nonsense. If you talk politely to me, I do the same. If you are rude to me, I`ll reciprocate with the same. If it wasn`t for Tanishaa, I`d have probably lost my head. She kept me grounded. When the lights were out, we discussed all the tensions of the day."

Asked if there is a future to their relationship beyond ‘Bigg Boss’, Armaan doesn`t deny his desire for durability for the duo.

"Like I said, she is my friend for life. If you`re asking about the future of my relationship with her, I can only say, there are two well-known film families who are involved. I wouldn`t want to say anything that would embarrass Tanishaa`s mummy or my papa and mummy."

Armaan is surprisingly candid on the issue of Sofia Hayat who has filed a case against him for violence in the Bigg Boss house.

Says Armaan, "This is just an issue being made out of a tissue. That`s not the way I`ve been brought up. To hurt a woman in any way is not acceptable to my family values. And you tell me, is it possible for anybody to get violent within the Bigg Boss house?

"It is written on the contract that no contestant is allowed physical contact. You raise a finger in there, and there`s hell to pay. If you see the footage you`ll know the truth. I don`t know why Sofiaji is doing what she is. But I wish her all the best in life. No hard feelings."

Says Armaan, "I`ve come away with only positive feelings from Bigg Boss. Now I just want to meet my parents. I can`t wait to hug them."

Oh Suarez !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not AGAIN !!!!!!!!!! 2 Goals and An assist !!!

"Liverpool down Cardiff city Suarez Enjoys new Contract"

Liverpool Dominated the whole set of the match.

Their were hardly any chances for Cardiff City...

Luis Suarez celebrated his new contract in style as he inspired Liverpool to a 3-1 win over Cardiff City at Anfield.

All the pre-match focus surrounded Malky Mackay's future at Cardiff, but all the talk after the game was on the goalscoring exploits of Suarez.

Suarez had a hand in all three goals as he scored two to take his tally to 19 goals for the season before setting up Raheem Sterling for his effort.

Cardiff showed great character with an impressive second half performance with Jordon Mutch reducing the arrears, but Liverpool held on to take all three points and move to the top of the table for 48 hours at least.

Liverpool started brightly, but Cardiff were defending in numbers and it was the visitors who went close to opening the scoring after 14 minutes when boyhood Liverpool fan Craig Noone forced Simon Mignolet into a flying save with a shot from the edge of the box.

The home side made the breakthrough on 25 minutes with Suarez finding the net for his 18th Premier League goal of the campaign. Jordan Henderson was the creator of the goal as picked out Suarez inside the box with a chipped pass and Suarez drilled his volley expertly into the bottom corner past David Marshall.

Cardiff had claims for a penalty turned down on 29 minutes when Steven Caulker went down in the box under a challenge from Martin Skrtel.

Liverpool were inches away from adding a second goal on 33 minutes when Suarez fed Philippe Coutinho with a short corner and the Brazilian skipped past Gary Medel on the byline before firing his shot off the base of the post.

Brendan Rodgers' side continued to probe for openings and after Skrtel headed over from Jon Flanaga's cross Flanagan saw his effort from an acute angle clip the post before being cleared off the line by the legs of Marshall.

The impressive Sterling then saw a shot pushed away by Marshall after breaking clear on goal, before Liverpool grabbed a second goal their dominance deserved on 42 minutes when Henderson sent Suarez racing clear on goal with a superb pass and the Uruguayan unselfishly passed for Sterling to stroke the ball home from close-range.

Things got even better for Liverpool on the stroke of half-time when Henderson found Suarez on the edge of the box with a clever backheel pass and the in-form striker curled his shot into the far corner leaving Marshall stranded.

Liverpool picked up where they left off at the start of the second half and Sterling and Coutinho both fired in efforts from the edge of the box which flew wide of the target.

Cardiff pulled a goal back just before the hour mark when Jordon Mutch found himself unmarked from Peter Whittingham's cross to head home past Mignolet.

The goal lifted Cardiff and they looked dangerous every time they got a ball in the box from set-pieces with Whittingham's deliveries causing all sorts of problems.

Liverpool should have added a fourth goal 15 minutes from time when Sterling broke clear on goal only to be denied by Marshall before Suarez hit the post with the follow-up effort.

Cardiff refused to give in and Caulker was unlucky not to score five minutes from time when he flicked Noone's cross wide of the far post.

Suarez was denied his hat-trick in the final minute when he latched onto Sterling's pass, but Marshall did well to keep out his left-footed effort.

Luis Suarez has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool.

The Uruguayan has been in stunning form for the Reds recently, after a turbulent summer in which he suggested the club had reneged on an agreement to sell him if they failed to qualify for the Champions League.

It had been expected that talks would continue throughout the season and the received wisdom was that the player would want to wait and see whether the Reds secured a Champions League place for next season, but the club on Friday confirmed he had signed a new deal.

Suarez told the club's official website: "Without doubt the backing I have received from the Liverpool fans has influenced my decision. I am so proud to represent them and go out to do my best for them every time I pull on the shirt."

Liverpool did not specify the length of Suarez's new deal but it is expected to make the 26-year-old striker the best-paid player in the club's history.

Suarez's spell at Anfield has often been a controversial one after being handed two long-term bans, one for racially abusing Manchester United's Patrice Evra and last season for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic.

Suarez added: "I am delighted to have agreed a new deal with Liverpool and have my future secured for the long term.

"We have some great players and the team is growing and improving all the time. I believe I can achieve the ambitions of winning trophies and playing at the very highest level with Liverpool. My aim is to help get us there as quickly as possible."

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said Suarez had yet to reach his peak.

He added: "This is fantastic news for everyone associated with the club; the team, the owners and most importantly the supporters.

"Luis is a world-class talent and securing his services is crucial for what we are trying to achieve here.

"What's most important and most exciting is that, at just 26 years old, his best years are still ahead of him and we now know we'll be seeing him reach that potential in a Liverpool shirt."

Liverpool had to fend off interest from Arsenal in the summer, who had a bid of £40,000,001 rejected, but their determination to keep Suarez has paid off with the Reds now second in the Premier League with the Uruguayan the leading scorer in the top flight with 17 goals, four ahead of his nearest rival.

The club's principal owner John W Henry said: "We are committed to working hard to keep our best players and this is an indication that we are moving in the right direction and moving at a pace that impresses one of the best players in world soccer.

"The club has made major strides forward in recent years and we are all committed to delivering the success our supporters want and deserve."

Liverpool chairman Tom Werner added: "This demonstrates our commitment, as an ownership group, to building a team that competes at the highest level both in the Barclays Premier League and in Europe.

"Our primary motive is to do what is best for Liverpool Football Club and today's news is another significant step forward on this journey."
